Rick Vail Named CEO At Mechanics Savings Bank
Mechanics Savings Bank board of directors is pleased to announce that Richard J. “Rick” Vail has been appointed as the bank’s president and chief executive officer.
Vail has 28 years of experience in the financial services industry. From 2004 to 2006, he served as senior commercial loan officer at Gorham Savings Bank. He had been a financial consultant for A.G. Edwards & Sons and prior to that was executive vice president of commercial services at Peoples Heritage Bank.
Vail has served in various volunteer capacities for Southern Maine-based nonprofits, including Youth Alternatives, United Way of Greater Portland, Maine Medical Center, Mercy Hospital and PCA Great Performances.
Vail has a mathematics degree from the University of Southern Maine. He and his wife, Phyllis, currently live in South Portland.
